Blog update; 1st November 2010 Introduction to the prelim.

The preliminary task will include filming 30 seconds of footage whilst demonstrating the techniques of the 180 degree rule, the reverse shot and the match on action rule.
The 180 degree rule mean that you have to find the axis of which your two characters are standing on. the then imagine a circle around them which obviously would be 360 degrees. you then half this along where the two characters are standing and you must not go beyond this point as the characters would then look as if they are facing the same way during a conversation, which is obviously not the case.
The second rule is the match on action rule, this means that when you edit you footage or you film your footage, you have to have the shots put into a sequence that makes sense.
To summarise, we came to an initial idea in the group and decided that a young religious woman returning from university, and confronting her religious mother that she is pregnant.
