Conventional Titles.

The conventional title sequence of a gangster film from my research is very similar on most occasions. There is two main type of opening i have come across very often for this genre, and this consists of either a clip running in the background with a voice over telling a story, or a sequence of pictures of events that have happened and the titles running over the top.

our opening sequence challenges the conventions of this genre as we have no voice over or diagetic sound during the sequence that was captured during the filming and we have a song track playing over the top of the entire sequence that takes a few short pauses in the music for dramatic effect. although the track we use is of the same aspect of the natural conventions, a gothic choir, but the way in which we use it is not the same as the basic conventions.

Also we again challenge the conventions by using a fade in and out sequence which i am applying to the footage today, and depending on how this looks we will decide if we need the fade transactions or not.
